The Driven Academy Fall Baseball program is about the players: development, recruiting opportunities, and enjoyment of the game. Originally an idea of Travis Parker; this team continues to offer opportunities to Nebraska high school baseball players to compete against college-level talent in front of area coaches. Driven Academy’s coaches know the system, know the coaches, and can help guide athletes through the complicated and sometimes intimidating recruiting process.
The schedule consists of weekend double-headers with area colleges at their facilities. The team will practice once/week. Player will be provided with a 6-Month Driven Academy membership giving them access to our new 11,000 square foot training facility, along with a Driven Academy jersey and hat.
PHILOSOPHY & STANDARDS:
Designed to bring the best talent Lincoln area high school baseball has to offer to college campuses in the surrounding area; The Driven Academy Fall Baseball Program is a great option for athletes to compete at the next level and work on developing their skills for that next level. We are looking to fill a roster of 16 to 20 players this season.
The team's focus will be four-fold...
- Further development and training at the new 11,000 square foot Driven Academy facility
- The opportunity to play college-level talent
- The opportunity to visit campuses, meet coaches and admission staff, and be seen by area college programs.
- Driven staff will also educate players and parents on the recruitment process and are available to put together recruiting packages and recruiting videos for participating players.
2017 Team Fees are as follows:
- Participation Fee $700
- Recruiting Video Production $400-$450
Travel costs and any lodging is the responsibility of the participating player. Recruiting guidance and packages are included in the Participation Fee. Recruiting Video Production is an additional cost. Players also receive a Driven Jersey and Hat for participating.
Coach Justin VanDyke
Coach Van Dyke’s expertise stems from his collegiate experience as a dual-threat number-one starting pitcher and designated hitter for the Nebraska Wesleyan University Prairie Wolves. At NWU, Justin earned All-GPAC, All-Nebraska, 1st Team All-Independent, and the Dr. Vicente “Vince” Colon Memorial Award honors for his contributions as a Team Captain, 4th all-time 199 2/3 career innings pitched, 10th all-time strikeouts, and career batting average of .295. At The Driven Academy, Justin works with players of all ages and skill ranges and covers virtually every aspect of the game. Justin is also an assistant coach at Lincoln Northeast and has worked with the Lincoln High legion team.
Coach Travis Parker
Coach Parker brings professional experience to The Driven Academy as a former closer for the Lincoln Saltdogs. A Lincoln native, Travis was a four-year varsity player at Lincoln Northeast and 2007 Super State selection. In college, he earned All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American honors as a member of the Atlantic 10 Champion Saint Louis University Billikens while setting the SLU single-season and career save records by allowing just nine extra base hits in 72 2/3 innings. Parker also brings high school coaching experience working with the Northeast Legion team and as the head coach the Driven Elite fall baseball team. At The Driven Academy, Travis coaches pitching, catching, and hitting to players of all ages.
